Assessment Philosophy
At Educere Higher Secondary School, our assessment philosophy is centered on continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) to foster a deeper understanding of the subjects and promote holistic development of our students.
Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE)
CCE is an ongoing process that evaluates various aspects of students' growth and development, both academic and co-curricular. Our CCE framework includes the following components:
- Formative Assessments (FA): Regular tests, quizzes, classwork, homework, projects, and presentations conducted throughout the academic year to monitor students' progress.
- Summative Assessments (SA): Terminal examinations conducted at the end of each term to evaluate students' understanding and retention of the curriculum.
Examination Schedule
Our academic year is divided into two terms, with a well-structured examination schedule:
- First Term:
- Formative Assessments: Conducted in July, August, and September.
- Summative Assessment: Conducted in October.
- Second Term:
- Formative Assessments: Conducted in January, February, and March.
- Summative Assessment: Conducted in April.
Grading System
We follow a grading system to provide a clear and comprehensive evaluation of students' performance:
- A1: 91-100 (Outstanding)
- A2: 81-90 (Excellent)
- B1: 71-80 (Very Good)
- B2: 61-70 (Good)
- C1: 51-60 (Average)
- C2: 41-50 (Fair)
- D: 33-40 (Needs Improvement)

Promotion Policy
Promotion to the next grade is based on the overall performance of the student in both formative and summative assessments. A minimum of 33% in each subject is required for promotion.
Special Provisions
To support students with diverse learning needs, we provide special provisions such as extra time during examinations, use of assistive devices, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
Parent-Teacher Meetings
Regular parent-teacher meetings are held to discuss students' progress and address any concerns. These meetings foster a collaborative approach to students' education and development.
